Awaken Minds
Co-op
Welcome to Awaken Minds Co-op, where young minds in grades K-8 embark on a journey to strengthen their English Language Arts skills. Our tailored programs focus on fostering reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking abilities essential for academic and real-life success.
Middle School Courses
Literature
The literature class for middle school students promises to be engaging and thought-provoking. The course will feature a selection of literature from the period of 1850-1950 in American History, including works by renowned authors such as Louisa May Alcott, Louis Stevenson, and Harper Lee. I'm confident that the students will find the class both informative and enjoyable.
History
In this history class, we will explore the evolution of education, government, and society from the 1850s to the 1950s, and how it was influenced by society and government. We will also study notable individuals who made an impact during this period. Get ready to dive into the fascinating history of our great country!
Writing
The Cover Story Curriculum is an excellent resource for improving writing skills. With its engaging approach, your student will surely enjoy the process of becoming an excellent writer! This is not your run-of-the-mill writing course. It will be taught by professor Daniel Schwabauer via DVD and facilitated by Jenn Benton.
"My son took this class in 6th grade and by the end of the year tested as a 10th grade writer."
This course is THAT good!
